Nervous System & Breathwork

We all have a natural calm or alarm system — our nervous system. When the body is in alarm, children may become restless or distressed, while adults may feel overwhelmed or tense.

Breathwork uses simple, intentional breathing to help the body return to a state of calm.

Across Amaé Harmony offerings, families learn gentle breathing tools that can be used in everyday life. During the time together, we can use any of the principles coming from Art Therapy, play therapy, sound or somatic work to support your/their inner journey to discovery and transformation.

Ways to Work with Amaé

One-to-One (Child or Adult)

A personalised series shaped around the needs of a child, young person or adult, building practical tools for emotional regulation, calm and resilience. Across the offerings we gently explore what may be present beneath behaviour or feelings, using breathwork, grounding practices, creative reflection and conversation.

The pace is guided by the individual, allowing time to slow down, listen and develop greater awareness of emotional responses. When the body is in alarm, children may become restless or distressed, while adults may feel overwhelmed or tense.

The intention is to support lasting emotional steadiness, helping individuals feel more connected to themselves and better able to navigate everyday challenges.

Child & Parent / Caregiver

These offerings create space for families to practise emotional regulation together and build tools that can be carried into everyday life. Across the offerings, both child and caregiver explore ways to slow down, listen and respond with greater steadiness.

The work focuses on strengthening connection, helping children feel understood while supporting adults to feel more confident and grounded in their role.

A shared series for parent and child to learn together, developing gentle practices that support co-regulation, trust and emotional safety within the family.

Groups & Institutions

Offerings for schools, community organisations and institutions, offering accessible nervous-system informed practices that support wellbeing, focus and emotional resilience.

These offerings introduce simple tools such as breathwork, grounding practices, creative reflection and shared listening. The aim is to help children and young people develop greater awareness of their emotions while creating calmer, more supportive environments for learning and connection.
